GenC Coffee Club
Privacy Policy

This policy explains what GenC Coffee Club collects, why, and who receives it. GenC Coffee Club is operated by GenC Corporation, a Delaware corporation (“GenC”, “we”). Questions and data requests go to hello@clubgenc.com.
1.What we collect, and why
When you join
To set up your membership we collect your name, email address, shipping address and your plan choices: the plan, roast, grind, number of bags and any optional add-on. If you came through a member’s referral link or a Founder invitation, we record that too. We use this to run your membership: billing, shipping and your member number.
Payments
- You enter your card number only in Helcim’s secure payment window. GenC never sees or stores it.
- To open that window, we send Helcim your name, email address, billing and shipping address, and what you’re buying.
- From Helcim we keep a customer code, a card token (which lets us charge renewals without your card number), the card’s brand and last four digits, and its expiry date where Helcim provides it.
- We store the IP address you signed up from, because Helcim requires one on each charge, renewals included.
- We keep a record of each invoice and each payment attempt.
Signing in
There are no passwords. You sign in with a link we email you, which works for 15 minutes. Signing in sets a session cookie that keeps you signed in. Each session record can include your IP address and your browser’s user agent.
We send transactional email through Emailit: sign-in links, notices about your membership and payments (such as a request to update your card), shipping updates, and Founder invitations and their reminders. Emailit receives your email address and the message.
Shipping
Orders are fulfilled through Shopify, the system our fulfillment partner uses. Each order carries the ship-to name and address, the coffee and quantity, our invoice number, your member number and the payment reference from Helcim. It carries no email address, and Shopify sends you no email: your shipping updates come from GenC.
Bag QR codes
When you scan the QR code on a GenC bag, we log the bag’s batch code, a hashed version of your IP address, and your browser’s user agent. If the link came from a member, we note which member, and we set a referral cookie for 30 days so a signup can be credited to them. A member’s referral link sets the same cookie.
Teacher Hub
Teacher Hub profiles are public: a teacher’s name, school and portrait appear on public story pages and on the page a bag’s QR code opens. Story drops are public too, and must not contain any student’s personal information. Photos and videos that teachers upload are stored and streamed through Bunny.
Founder invitations
GenC can hold a Founder number for one named person and email them an invitation. The invitation stores the invitee’s name and email address, any personal note, and when the invitation was first opened.
Other forms
- Waitlist: your email address. We send you a thank-you email.
- Campus wristband: your email address. We send you a welcome email.
- Passing a wristband to a friend: your friend’s email address, which we use to send them a link to claim it.
- Teacher interest form: your name, email address, school and message.
